The Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts is proud to be an active part of the communities we serve. Our connection with the community extends well beyond emergency response through public education, community events, partnerships with local organizations and opportunities that bring our firefighters and residents together.
Throughout the year, our members participate in events and programs designed to strengthen those relationships, promote safety and give back to the Marengo and Union communities. This page will serve as a place to find information about upcoming events, community programs and opportunities to get involved.
Marengo Christmas Parade
The Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts is excited to once again bring the community together for the 2026 Marengo Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5, 2026.

This year’s parade will feature lighted displays from local businesses, organizations and community groups, with an Elf Theme for those competing for the Best Display traveling trophy. All lighted displays are welcome to participate, although only Elf-themed entries will be eligible for the contest.
​We are currently accepting parade entries and are also looking for vendors interested in setting up a booth and selling their products. The deadline for parade entries is November 23, 2026. Those interested in participating can complete the Parade Entry Form and submit it to marengofpdevents@marengofirerescue.org.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Community support plays an important role in making the Marengo Christmas Parade possible each year. Businesses, organizations and individuals interested in supporting the event can participate through several sponsorship levels, ranging from $200 to $1,000 and above.

We are also seeking corporate sponsors to assist with several larger elements of the event, including lights, a large tent and reindeer. Sponsorship commitments are requested by October 1, 2026.
