It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts is to permit access to and copying of public records in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, balanced, however, by the limited exceptions recognized in the Act to safeguard individual privacy and the efficient operation of the District.

The below FOIA request form is for in person requests only and is not for patient records. For more information on how to request patient records, please contact the FOIA Officer below.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”), which has been amended by Public Act 104-0438, requests submitted electronically (by e-mail) “must appear in their entirety within the body of the electronic submission. As a cybersecurity measure, no public body shall be required to open electronically attached files or hyperlinks to view or access details of a request.” 5 ILCS 140/3(c).

What do I need to file?

  • Name

  • Mailing address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Detailed description of the records that being requested

Don't forget:

  • Exact location

  • Date of fire incident

  • How you would like the information sent (via email, fax or mail)
